Terms of Service

Dee’s Agora is a community platform for structured debate. People propose questions, vote on which one is worth testing, argue the FOR and AGAINST sides in a live session, and leave a public record of the exchange.

These terms are the agreement between you and Dee’s Agora. They apply whenever you use the site — reading the archive, voting, applying to speak, or taking the floor. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.

Signing in happens through Google. We do not issue passwords, so the security of your account rests on the security of the Google account you use.

• One account per person. Do not create a second account to vote twice, to re-apply after a decision, or to get around a suspension.
• You must be at least 16 to hold an account. If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before you apply to speak in a session that will be recorded and published.
• Do not impersonate another person, claim credentials you do not hold, or present someone else’s work as your own argument.
• Keep your profile accurate. Your username, avatar, and stated details are shown to the rest of the community.

The point of this place is that a position can be taken apart without the person holding it being taken apart. That only works if everyone argues in good faith.

• Contest the argument, not the person. Disagree as sharply as you like with what was said. Insults, sneers, and contempt for the speaker are not argument.
• No harassment, threats, hate speech, or abuse directed at anyone on the basis of who they are.
• No doxxing. Do not publish anyone’s private contact details, address, workplace, or images without their consent.
• No spam, vote brigading, coordinated inauthentic activity, or scraping the platform for another service.
• Represent sources honestly. Fabricated quotes, invented statistics, and doctored media are treated as serious breaches.

Stewards moderate the community. We may remove content, decline an application, end a session, or suspend an account when these standards are broken.

Applying to speak is an offer, not a booking. Stewards choose speakers for each motion, balance the FOR and AGAINST sides, and may name backups. A decision either way is not a judgement of you.

• Sessions run on external meeting platforms such as Google Meet or Zoom. Their own terms apply while you are in the call, and we do not control how they operate.
• If you are selected, turn up. Attendance and no-shows are recorded against your speaker profile, and repeated no-shows may cost you future slots.
• Follow the format and the chair. Time limits, speaking order, and the right of reply exist so that both sides are actually heard.
• We may reschedule or cancel a session. Nothing here guarantees that a particular debate will happen or that you will be chosen for it.

Debates are recorded, edited, and published in public. Full sessions, highlights, and short clips may appear on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and elsewhere, and on this site.

By taking the floor in a session, you give Dee’s Agora a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to record, edit, reproduce, publish, and promote that session and your contribution to it, including your name, username, image, and voice. This licence lasts as long as the recording is published and is not conditional on payment.

Your speaker profile — username, avatar, bio, the stances you have argued, participation history, and any recognition such as Featured Speaker — is public. You can edit or empty most profile fields at any time, but the record of the debates you took part in remains part of the public archive.

If a published recording causes you a genuine problem, write to us at hello@deesagora.com. We will consider removing it, though we cannot always retrieve copies that other people have already downloaded or reposted.

Votes decide which motions are debated and which speaker the room found most convincing. They only mean something if they are honest.

• One vote per person per topic, voting round, and debate. Votes are recorded against your account so that this can be enforced.
• Do not use extra accounts, bots, or organised campaigns to move a result. We may void votes and suspend accounts that do.
• Results are published in aggregate — totals, shares, and the reasons people gave. Individual votes are not shown publicly.
• Stewards may correct or annul a result that has been manipulated, or close a round early where a round is compromised.

You keep ownership of what you write and say: your motions, bio, applications, audio submissions, and arguments. You give us a licence to host, display, distribute, and promote that material on the platform and its channels, as described in section 05.

Only submit material you have the right to submit. If your argument quotes, samples, or reproduces someone else’s work, that is on you to clear.

The Dee’s Agora name, logo, written interface, and visual design belong to us. You are welcome to link to and quote from the platform; you may not copy it wholesale or present it as your own.

The platform is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or permanently available, and we may add, change, or retire features as the community grows.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Dee’s Agora is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform, from a session that does not run, or from content published by other members. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You can stop using Dee’s Agora at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account by writing to hello@deesagora.com. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your data when you do.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we may remove content that does. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

When these terms change we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will flag anything significant on the site. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the revised terms.
